2/16/19 – BRICK STITCH DIAMONDS - Brick Stitch is a bead weaving stitch in which individual beads are stacked horizontally in the same pattern as bricks are stacked in a wall. Also known as Comanche Stitch or Cheyenne Stitch; it is similar to Peyote Stitch but turned sideways. It allows you to construct complex pieces with irregular edges and for some reason it just doesn’t get the love that all the other stitches get! We’re going to remedy that with a 4 part series on Brick Stitch techniques taught by a new Bliss guest instructor, Wanda Pitzele! Wanda began her beading adventure 18 years ago when her daughter wanted a Tallit (beaded prayer shawl) for her Bat Mitzvah. Moving from ceramics and glass fusing and now her favorite technique of freeform beading, she has been selling her beaded jewelry since 2007 at fine art shows and teaching the last 5 years. Wanda moved to Cincinnati from Chicago last year and is so happy to have a new beading community. Welcome Wanda! Beginner - class fee: $20 + materials. Call for supply list.
